Pat’s Granola Desserts
I recently served an entire dessert menu with Pat’s Granola for a special event. My creative juices really flowed! And the guests loved the desserts which was especially gratifying.
If you’re thinking about desserts and what to bring to a gathering of family or friends this summer, here’s a few delicious ideas.
In my opinion, dessert should be something eagerly anticipated. Do you prefer something fancy to elicit swoons or do you create familiar favorites that people love whenever they see them? Both options are fine.
Fruit desserts are a favorite in my family, especially when strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and peaches are in season. Strawberry shortcake, peach cobbler, crisp, a berry crumble, buckle or pie usually catch my eye. I love a good dessert and usually check what’s for dessert menu before diving into a meal. Need to leave room for it!
Dessert was often reserved for special occasions growing up, so we loved the special treats. Coconut cake, sweet potato pie, peach cobbler with homemade ice cream…oh, such memories!
Even a simple parfait with homemade whipped cream, ice cream, gelato or custard, layered with fruit and granola can be both breakfast or dessert.
Step up the parfait into a grand granola trifle. A show stopping dessert! Easy to make and guaranteed to please.
Also easy to make and just as delicious:
Baked pears with maple yogurt and granola
I’d love to hear about your favorite desserts in the comments.
