What Has Pat Been Up To Lately?

Pat has been a wee bit busy recently. Here’s some of what's been happening.

Pat's Granola was included in Let's Go Meet The Neighbors Holiday Gift Guide. Features 50 local small business makers who offer a wonderful collection of gifts for just about everyone on your gift list. Thanks to creator Brittany for including Pat's Granola on this list. Shopping local means so much to me and other artisans.

Pat had the good fortune of being invited to participate in a very special holiday podcast hosted by Lisa Oriss Sands, creator and founder of CLEFoodcast. Jennine, creator of CLE Markets joined Pat and Lisa for a spirited conversation about locally made products/experiences for gifting this season. The podcast was recorded at Gatherings Kitchen in Lakewood. Special thanks to Chef Ruth Kostadinov for welcoming us into this lovely space. I'm especially grateful to Lisa for scheduling this time to meet and for Chef Ruths delicious pumpkin bread which we noshed on after the recording.

Natalie Herbick and Pat dished about Pat's Granola, locally made products and Pat’s collaboration with an Ohio maker, J Fetzer Pottery, who crafted those beautiful custom stoneware bowls seen on the broadcast. Working with this Ohio maker (he's based in Lancaster, OH) has been a wonderful partnership. Jim Fetzer and I got to know each other over phone calls and emails which speaks to the value of why creating strong personal connections is essential in business. I'm so proud to offer his beautiful handmade products alongside Pat's Granola.

Ann Mastandrea from The Cleveland Foundation interviewed Pat for an upcoming article about her experience in the Encore Entrepreneur Initiative. The Foundation sponsored this program for women over the age of 50 who wanted to start or expand a business. We chatted about how the experience was beneficial to me and how my business has grown since completing the programs first cohort in 2017. Here's a 2018 write up from The Cleveland Foundation which mentioned Pat's Granola. Becoming An Encore Entrepreneur

And on a personal level, I was able to spend a wonderful evening with friends over dinner this month. As a member of the NEO Foodies Cookbook Club, I've been blessed to meet a group of people who not only love food, but love getting together and sharing a meal. We cooked from Samin Nosrat's Salt Fat Acid Heat--I made a casserole style chicken pot pie, and honestly, every dish was delicious. It's a beautiful thing when strangers become friends.
